Media Event: #UncleIRL

Hi Guys!

It has been a while since I last posted. The good news is that I’m coming in hot with a post about the first media event I have attended for a Canadian brand Uncle Studios, it is a sustainable and ethical brand founded by Allegra Shaw (@allegrashaw) and her best friend Shirin Soltani (@shirinsoltani) www.unclestudios.com

I had the opportunity to meet these amazing women and the Uncle Team and experience something that I didn’t think I would. I was told I was invited due to the support that I have shown the brand, and of course making purchases and showing the items on my instagram (@brittanyjordan12). They were also hosting a pop-up shop during the weekend (May 4-May 5) which allowed all Uncle fans or anyone who was curious to find out about the brand to come see and have a great experience. There were some sneak peaks of items that were not released yet like this amazing cargo coat 🙂 during the media preview on Friday night that I had the pleasure of attending.

Saturday May 4 was the day that I knew I had to attend to see the panel of amazing ladies speak on Media, Entrepreneurship and how they view the industry, and let me tell you it was pretty awesome. They touched on subjects about Instagram and that currently in Canada we don’t see the “like” count on the main page; how this could impact influencers/content creators and the partnerships they have. Also how it may impact the growth of smaller (such as myself) creators but most importantly that this is happening due to the rise of mental health issues that have risen due to how many “likes” a photo receives.
This was a great discussion and it needs to happen more often.

The event was sponsored by some amazing brands such as 437swimwear

I would highly recommend checking out all brands and seeing what Canada has to offer and bring to the market.

P.S I posted a video of the clothing and event in my YouTube channel – UnclexStudios IRL event and Mango haul
