Colourpop No Filter Foundation
Hi Lovelies,
Happy Canada Day!
I was so excited when I heard that Colourpop was releasing a foundation (in 40 shades!) to go with their already popular no filter concealer, they also included three loose powders (translucent, banana and translucent deep) and pressed powders (fair, light, medium, medium dark, dark and deep dark).
Colourpop made a reference chart on there Instagram to help you pick your shade and when it launched they had created a shade finder on their website https://colourpop.com/products/no-filter-matte-foundation
My shade is Dark 155 which is the equivalent to Mac NC45, Fenty 370 and the shade match is pretty good, it’s warm and has a nice yellow undertone. The consistency is runny not thick which is nice, I found it best applied with a brush and then blended out with a beauty blender to work it into the skin for an overall flawless finish. The foundation is $12USD, no filter loose powder is $9USD, pressed powder $9USD and the concealer is $6USD. Not bad pricing even with the conversion to CAD.
I picked up the foundation and banana loose powder, I already own the concealer (which is amazing). https://colourpop.com/products/no-filter-loose-setting-powder, https://colourpop.com/products/no-filter-sheer-matte-pressed-powder, https://colourpop.com/products/no-filter-concealer
Overall I like the look of the foundation on my oily skin. It holds up pretty well once it’s set, it does start to have that “glow” after 5hrs but that is most foundations on me and it separated a bit after 8hrs in humid heat.
The first picture is with natural light coming towards my face, in the second there is no flash and just natural light.
I also swatched two of my favourite foundations with the new Colourpop one and I was surprised, as you see in the image below my Fenty 370 and Colourpop Dark 155 look exactly the same; while my MAC Studio Fix NC45 looks warmer. All three shades work on me without there being any type of “foundation mask” or noticeable difference.
The banana powder is amazing, very smooth and blends into the skin like a dream. I like to apply mine with a damp beauty blender or real techniques sponge. I’m not big on baking since it can make my under eyes look a little dry, so I press the powder into my skin. I really do like this foundation and I will keep in my rotation.
Have any of you purchased the foundation? If you have let me know what you think.
